Restaurant Review: The Owl House

The wife and I are in the western New York visiting family this weekend and thought we would try out a new restaurant. Vegan style.

The Owl House is located at 75 Marshall St, just off Monroe Ave. Parking is on the street, and it is a cute house remodeled to be a restaurant. Offering locally sourced food where ever possible. They have an amazing cocktail and unique beer menu, all of which are priced very reasonably. The food menu is a nice mixture of vegan, vegetarian, and even a few meat selections. Each of the menu items that include animal have a vegan alternative.

I went with the Olek’s Buffalo Stance - Buffalo Spiced Tempeh, Pickled Red Onion, Baby Arugula, Bleu Cheese Dressing on Baguette. It was delicious. Served with a nice side of fresh greens. We started out with a nice flatbread with alternative cheese and edamame. The edamame was fresh and spicy, with a hint of lime. A unique alternative to the standard sea salt method.

We sat outside, on their small patio, and it was a perfect evening. Service was amazing, and very helpful to a beginner vegan, with my many questions.

So overall I’d highly recommend if you get to the Rochester NY area, please check out the Owl House.
