Back in the good ol’ days of local farms, organic produce and a diet of natural, unrefined wholefoods, our meals ticked the majority of boxes on the list of nutritional requirements.
B12, as I have mentioned before, was gained through soil remaining on vegetables, as well as in meat and dairy products. Iron is similar, in that we gain much of it from unrefined nuts, vegetables and legumes and a diverse diet.
We know iron as a metal ore, but what is it as a nutrient, and why do we need it so much?
